Pharmacology
Sucralose is a calorie-free artificial sweetener. Sucralose has a sweetness that is about 600 times that of sugar. Sucralose Obtained by replacing three hydroxyl groups in sucrose with three chlorine atoms. Sucralose tastes like sugar since it is produced from sugar. Tightly bonded carbon-chlorine bonds are extremely stable and prevent Sucralose from being digested for energy, resulting in calorie-free Sucralose. The chlorine atoms also offer thermal stability, allowing sucralose to be cooked and baked without losing sweetness. Sucralose is not broken down in the body to produce energy. As a result, it has 0 calories. Sucralose travels through the body unaltered, is not digested, and is excreted after ingestion. Sucralose has no effect on glucose metabolism and has no influence on fetal or neonatal development since it is not actively transported through the blood-brain barrier, placental barrier, or mammary gland. Sucralose has no effect on glucose utilization and absorption, carbohydrate metabolism, or insulin secretion. As a result, it is a safe drug that diabetics can use.
