Side-Effects
Topical treatment with Ketokonajor shampoo 2% is generally well tolerated. As with other shampoos, local burning sensations, itching and contact dermatitis (due to irritation or allergies) may occur in exposed areas. Oily dry hair was rarely reported when using Ketokonajor shampoo 2%.
Pregnancy
Since ketoconazole is not absorbed through the skin after application, pregnancy and lactation are not contraindications to the use of ketoconazole 2% shampoo.
Precautions
It is recommended that patients undergoing long-term treatment with topical corticosteroids gradually discontinue steroid therapy over 2-3 weeks while using Ketoconazor Shampoo 2% to prevent potential rebound effects. The increase in hair loss is often associated with seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff, and few have been reported with the use of Ketoconazole Shampoo 2%. Avoid getting it in your eyes. If the shampoo gets into your eyes, you can get water.
